Fay Sidello Obituary

Fay (Simonetta) Sidello, age 96, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2025. Fay was born in Syracuse, New York, to August and Mary Nancy Simonetta. One of eight children, she grew up in a close-knit family and fondly enjoyed music and singing together-one of their favorite pastimes.
She attended Eastwood High School in Syracuse and later pursued studies in bookkeeping at business school. Fay worked in accounting and bookkeeping positions at various companies including Niagara Mohawk (now National Grid), and Sibley's. She later retired from Agway.
In 1957, Fay married Desadiro Sidello, with whom she raised three children. A woman of deep faith and love for music, Fay was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church Choir in Syracuse for more than 20 years and was a devoted parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville.
Fay was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband, and all seven of her siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Duane) Mahon of Toccoa, Georgia, and Michele Sidello of East Syracuse; her son, Michael Sidello of Fayetteville; her grandchildren, Carlena Sidello, Michael (Reilly) Mahon, and Caroline Mahon of Charlotte; her great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Anna Mahon; sisters-in-law, Mary Monforte, Patricia Simonetta and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Fay will be held on Friday, January 2nd, with visitation at 10 a.m., followed by a Catholic Mass at 11 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Food Bank of Central New York.
