Faye Abdulla, 81, of Knoxville, TN, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 17, 2025. She was born on September 24, 1943, to the late Malcolm and Mildred McCall in Greenback, TN.
She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's in Microbiology in 1965 where she met her loving husband, Farid. Faye loved her 42 years working at the Tennessee Department of Health Laboratory Services and the many friendships she formed along the way.
Faye was a devoted wife and mother and cherished grandmother who always put her family first. She was known for her honesty, loyalty, kindness and warmth. Faye had a passion for learning - constantly reading books on science and math. She enjoyed needle point, volunteering at church and the science museum and attending her grandkids events.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Farid Abdulla; three siblings, John McCall, Mary Gamble and Martha McCall; and brother-in-laws, Roy Gamble and Michael Fultz.
Faye is survived by her daughters, Reem (Mark) Provinsal, Dena Abdulla and Sara (Brian) Hodges; son, Farris (Cory) Abdulla; brother-in-law, Dr. Farouk Abdulla; grandchildren, Drew, Meagan, Lauren, Preston, Reed and Alya; and extended family.
The family would like to thank Ashley, Kim, Jess and Rachel for the impeccable care they provided Faye.
