Faye Freeman Byrd, 65, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Born, September 24, 1959, in Cheraw, SC, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Gladys Locklear Freeman.
Faye dedicated 35 years to her career as a weaver at Highland Industries, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She was a member of Mt. Elim Freewill Baptist Church and held a deep love for Jesus, her family, and she brought joy to those around her with her passion for collecting a variety of items. Faye had a special affinity for animals, often caring for her own cats and dogs as well as feeding strays that came her way.
Along with her parents, listed above, Faye was preceded in death by her brother, Julius C. Freeman.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Shaun Byrd of Cheraw, SC; brothers, Randy Freeman of Rowland, NC and Larry Freeman (Jackie) of Vancouver, WA; and her sisters, Wanda Freeman of Los Angeles, CA, Althelia Freeman of Cheraw, SC, Peggy Freeman Miles (Anson) of Cheraw, SC, and Sara Freeman of Wallace, SC.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at Kiser Funeral Home.
Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Byrd family in their time of grief.
