Faye Kelley Mullenix

Faye Kelley Mullenix Age 68, of Holt, went to be with the Lord on
August 27th, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony
Mullenix; father, Davis Kelly; mother, Mary Kelley. She is survived by
her daughters: Rachel Dunn (Tim); Ginger Smith (Mark); stepdaughters:
Ashely Jones (Marsalis) and Casey Schmitt; grandchildren: Trey
Browning, Kayla Downing, Mathew Dunn, Skylar Canida, Tiffany
Stancil, McKenna Schmitt, Hamilton Jones and Lincoln Jones; and 4
great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Charlotte Ray
(Ken) and Sharon Lane; multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. Per Faye's
wishes, no formal memorial service will be held. Cremation has been
arranged by Cremation Center of Birmingham. Known to her grand
children as "Mamaw Granny", and known to many in the holt community
as "Mama Faye"; Faye was a long time resident of Holt, Alabama and
was well known in the community from times of working at local
convenient stores, and at Rama Jama near the University campus. Faye
always had a smile, kind words and good advice for those she loved. Faye
won the "Golden Poet Award For 1989" from Who's Who in Poetry for
her poem titled "Joe"; a poem she wrote to honor veterans. This poem
was published by the Disabled American Veterans magazine. Faye's
words: "I have lived a wonderful life, and I have no regrets. Don't cry for
me, remember the good times and take care and love one another. " The
family would like to say a special thank you to Hospice of North
Alabama.
