Faye B. (Washington) Maxwell, age 67, peacefully departed this life on Monday, September 9, 2024. Born on June 8, 1957, in Big Spring, Texas, to Bob and Dorthea (Stewart) Washington, Faye was blessed with a loving and adventurous spirit. She married the love of her life, Gary Maxwell, and together they shared a beautiful life, raising their two children, Gary, Jr. and Rachel. Faye cherished her family above all else, and her family circle was always expanding, as she embraced not only her own grandchildren but many "adopted" grandchildren as well.
Faye was deeply committed to her community, serving on the Parker County Animal Shelter Board and working as a purchasing manager at Jamak Corp. She found joy in bowling, trying her luck at the casino, and watching NASCAR races. One of her greatest thrills was the chance to drive a race car around the track, a memory she treasured dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Dorthea Washington, and her stepsister, Tommie Sue.
Faye is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Gary L. Maxwell, Sr., of Weatherford, Texas; her son, Gary Maxwell, Jr., and his partner, Megan; her daughter, Rachel Maxwell, and her partner, Landon Decker; her cherished grandchildren, Joslin Fay Maxwell and Brantley Russell Maxwell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and her many beloved "adopted" grandchildren.
A memorial service to honor Faye's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Parker County Animal Shelter.
