Faye Nash Parrish

Faye Nash Parrish, 87, peacefully passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024 at her home in Durham with family by her side. She was born in Durham, NC, daughter to the late Bernard Bright Nash and Vivian Holleman Nash. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parrish was predeceased by her husband, Billy M. Parrish; brother Bernard (Billy) Nash and sister Linda Bailey.
Mrs. Parrish retired from Durham Public Schools. She loved family, cooking, fishing, gardening and spending time with her dogs Ranger and Bridget.
Surviving are sisters Ellen Perry and Ruth (Pat) Keith of Durham; daughter, Donna Mouritzen and husband Arthur of Arizona; daughter Crystal Whicker and husband, Dennis of Durham; daughter Jessica Jones and husband, Wesley of Durham; and grandchildren Alyssa, Olivia and Chase.
Faye will be laid to rest beside her loving husband of 60 years at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in a private graveside service reserved for immediate family. Matthew Walters officiating. A "Celebration of Life" ceremony will be held at a later time.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to caregivers Beverly Lowery, Rachel Jacobs and Lisa McGee who provided excellent care and companionship. In addition, the family would like to thank Duke Hospice and particularly Hospice Nurse Lauren Wilkins for guidance and support during her transition.
