Faye Bell (Bamford) Silverstein, 92, of Avon, Indiana passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Faye was born on March 13, 1933, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late George William and Pauline (Bell) Bamford. She married the love of her life, David J. Silverstein on August 10, 1974. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and was an avid skier, having spent many years with Elk Mountain Ski Patrol. She and David loved to travel to several destinations, including to the Middle East, Europe and China. She also worked for FEMA for over 30 years, helping her community recover from many natural disasters. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, David, sister, June Dawn Kennison, daughter, Jill (George Gunnett) Bookland-Gunnett, grandchildren: Robyn (Ian) Cutting and Eric (Jessica) Bookland; and great grandchildren: Madison, Morgan, Aella and Meara. Faye will be laid to rest with a graveside funeral service on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 1pm at Shiloh Cemetery, 641 N. County Road 1050 E. Indianapolis, Indiana 46234. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to your local humane society at David and Faye's request.
