Faye Davis Walker, a beloved resident of East Flat Rock, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, North Carolina. She was 99 years old.
Born on October 11, 1925, in Buncombe County, North Carolina to the late John Marlin and Ida Lee Gibson Davis, Faye grew up in Old Fort, North Carolina before making Henderson County her home for the past 77 years. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and service to others.
Faye retired from Taylor Instrument, where she spent many years contributing with diligence and grace. Her work was not just a career but a testament to her commitment and strong work ethic. Even after retiring, she continued to serve her community with warmth and generosity. For over a decade, Faye was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary for Blue Ridge Fire and Rescue, offering her time and energy to support local heroes.
Her hands were seldom idle, crafted with the skill and love only an avid knitter possesses. Each creation was a symbol of her affection, a legacy of warmth shared with family and friends. Her faith was equally important to her, as she was a cherished member of Maranatha Baptist Church in East Flat Rock, where her spirit of kindness and compassion touched many lives.
Faye was preceded in death by, in addition to her parents, her devoted husband of 60 years, Waddell Robert Walker; her sister, Jane Davis Page; and four brothers, Grady, Dewey, Hubert, and John Charles "JC" Davis.
She is survived by her loving family, who will carry forward her legacy of love and resilience, three sons, Robert David Walker and his wife Susan, Wayne D. Walker and his wife Carolyn, all of
Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Terry I. Walker and his wife Lisa of Mills River, North Carolina; her sister, Pauline "Polly" Davis Henderson of
Hendersonville, North Carolina; her cherished grandchildren, Tommie Walker, Dusty Walker and his wife Tonia, Shawn Walker, Brad Gordon and his wife Katheryn, Dustin Walker and his wife Amber, Vance Gordon and his wife Kasey, and Trevor Walker and his wife Lisa; her great-grandchildren, Devin Walker, Liam Bailey, Presley Walker, Emma Gordon, Gracee Gordon, and Kinsley Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor Faye's remarkable life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville, with Pastor Josh Boyd officiating.
Those wishing to make a memorial donation in her memory are encouraged to consider the Four Seasons Foundation.
