Faylene “Miss Fay” Farrall, 84, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, in Overland Park, Kansas. Born on January 20, 1941, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, she lived a life marked by devotion—to her family, her faith, and her community.
For over three decades, Fay served as a food service manager for the Shawnee Mission School District. Her dedication to her work was matched only by the care she poured into every meal she prepared. She took pride in nourishing generations of students and staff with warmth and consistency.
Outside of her professional life, Fay found joy in simple pleasures: tending to her garden, sewing with care and creativity, diving into a good book, or sharing a hearty meal with those around her. She cherished time spent with her children and catching up with friends. She was always ready with a quick wit or mischievous grin that reflected her sassy spirit.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. A lifelong member of the Overland Park Church of Christ—now Christ Connect Church—she attended services faithfully every week. She led the nursery ministry with love and patience. She touched multiple generations, watching the children she once cared for grow up and raise families of their own. With a gentle spirit and wise heart, she had a gift for guiding little ones and supporting their parents along the way. Her selflessness and unwavering commitment made her a beloved presence within the congregation.
Fay’s strength and resilience were evident to all who knew her. She was tough when it mattered most—protective of those she loved—and always ready to lend a hand or offer support without hesitation.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Frank Farrall and his wife, Helen, and Allison Halterman and her husband, Blake. While she will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing her, there is comfort in knowing she is now pain-free and reunited in eternal peace with her beloved son, John. May her memory continue to bring peace, strength, and warmth to all who loved her.
