FEDERICO A. CARANDANG
Cherry Hill, NJ
FEDERICO A. CARANDANG (Fred) entered eternal life on October 16, 2025. H was 89 years old. He was born on August 24, 1936 in Cuenca, Batangas, Philippines. Fulfilling a family dream of a better life in the United States, he arrived in Philadelphia in 1973, and has been a longtime resident of Cherry Hill, NJ since 1978.
He is a graduate of Adamson University in Manila, Philippines with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He worked in the Accounting Department at Manila Doctors Hospital, where he met his future wife, Mila. He later worked at Colonial Penn Insurance Company in King of Prussia and Wells Fargo Bank in Philadelphia for many years until his retirement.
Fred was a kind, patient, loving, faithful servant of God who was involved in many activities. He was one of the founding fathers of the Knights of Columbus 7125 for the Philadelphia Chapter and later became a Fourth Degree Honorary Life Member. He was actively involved for many years in the Santo Nino prayer group of South Jersey and is one of the founding members of the BLD (Bukas Loob sa Diyos) a Catholic Charismatic Covenant Community of the Diocese of Camden. He served along with Mila as the Management Apostolate until his passing.
Fred and Mila were blessed in their retirement years to experience and travel to many pilgrimage sites including The National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA; National Centre for Padre Pio in Barto, PA; and Missionary Servants of Holy Love in Elyria, Ohio. Internationally, they visited Our Lady of Lourdes in Lourdes, France; Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal; The Holy Land in Jerusalem; The Vatican in Rome; The Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Italy, and the Sanctuary of St. Padre Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy.
Fred was the beloved husband of Mila Carandang. Loving father of Melissa Silva (Larry) and Michael, Carandang (Janeth). Proud grandfather of Alexander and Eric Silva, and Kateryne and Chloe Carandang. He is also survived by his brother Edilberto Carandang (Leticia), and sisters Soledad Cuevas, Erlinda Eusabio, Beatriz Carandang, Helen Santiago, and Nenita Cabral. He was predeceased by his brother, Felix Carandang.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Viewing on Thursday October 23rd from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Bradley Funeral Home, 601 Route 73 South, Marlton, NJ 08053. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday October 24th at Holy Eucharist Roman Catholic Church, 344 Kresson Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Interment will follow at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ.
