In Loving Memory of
Federico "Fred" L. Sanchez
March 27, 1953 – July 17, 2025
On July 17, 2025, Fred was called home to be with Our Lord and his family.
Fred was born on March 27, 1953, in Fort Myers, FL. The family moved to Brownsville, TX where he spent his youthful days with many cousins galore. He joined the U.S. Marines on February 7, 1973, then moved to Galveston and attended Galveston Community College, majoring in Radiology Technology while working for ILA Local 1576. He met his calling with ILA and continued his career as a Longshoreman and because of Fred's personality and looking out for his coworkers he was elected as Business Agent for Local 20 after the merger, retiring in October 2007 after 32 years' service. Fred enjoyed his friends near and far that he had the pleasure of meeting during the ILA Maritime conferences as well as those on the island he worked with.
Fred is survived by his wife Irma E. Sanchez, daughter Stephanie Sanchez, son and wife Federico "Freddy" Jr. and Josie Sanchez, two granddaughters, sisters in law Thelma Sanchez and Elvira Sanchez as well as many nieces and nephews that were as close to him as their fathers. He was preceded in death by his parents Fernando and Maria Guadalupe Sanchez, and four brothers Fernando Sanchez, Jr., Roberto Sanchez, Felix Sanchez, and Ricardo Sanchez who all will greet him upon arrival.
The family wishes to thank you for grieving with us, keeping us in your prayers and attending this Rosary in his memory.
