Obituary of Federico Santangelo
Federico Salvatore Santangelo of Fort Lee, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. He was 91 years old. Federico was born in 1931 in the town of Nocera Terinese in the Southern Italian region of Calabria. In 1951, at the age of 19, he married his wife Maria and immigrated to the United States in search of a better life.
He was a devoted father, deeply cherished grandfather, and great-grandfather who lived, breathed, and took profound pride in his family. Federico enjoyed spending time sharing stories of his youth, his culture, and the traditions of his homeland with his children and grandchildren. Always eager to lend a helping hand and extend hospitality to others, he humbly and gracefully exemplified the greatness and importance that family and friends serve in life.
Federico is predeceased by his beloved wife Maria Santangelo. He is survived by his children: Cesare Santangelo and his wife Sara, Dino Santangelo and his wife Paula, and Teresa Santangelo-Esoldi and her husband Gary; his seven grandchildren Andrew, John-Paul, Juliana, Diana, Catherine, Paul, and Stephen; his great-granddaughter Meredith; as well as his close friends and neighbors.
The family will recieve their friends on Friday from 4:00 -8:00 pm at the funeral home. The funeral will leave on Saturday at 10:00 am for the celebration of his funeral mass in the Main Church of the Madonna at 10:30 am. Entombment to follow at Madonna Mausoleum.

My family owned the candy store up the street. Growing up in WNY and living on 66th and Park, the pizzeria and your father, grandfather is part of my childhood memories. God bless and may he rest in peace
