THE LIFE JOURNEY OF
FELECIA DELPHINE WALKER
Felecia Delphine Walker was born on August 21, 1958, in Austin, Texas to the late Willie B. Walker and Marnette Canada Walker. She was the eldest of six children. She was assigned her best friend at birth, her twin, Delicia Charlene Walker. They had a special bond that could not be denied. On the afternoon of Wednesday, February 1, 2023, Felecia "Fefe" transitioned peacefully into Heaven, comforted by family who will miss her dearly.
Felecia grew up as a happy child and had a very active childhood. She enjoyed her neighborhood friends, especially spending time with them at the Montopolis Recreation Center. At the Rec Center, she had some of her fondest childhood memories playing softball, swimming, and volleyball. She also enjoyed attending the Austin Aqua Music Festival and skating at Playland, just to name a few. She enjoyed holiday fun with family and friends, especially her first cousins. She often spoke of one of her favorite childhood memories, attending the Jackson 5 concert with her sisters Dede and Minnie.
Felecia accepted Christ at an early age and was Baptized by Reverend G.V. Clark and sang in the GVC choir at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Felecia attended Austin ISD and Del Valle Independent School Districts. She graduated from Del Valle High School in May 1977. While attending Del Valle ISD, she participated in Pep Squad, track, and volleyball. One of her proudest moments playing volleyball was where she served an entire game resulting in a 15-0 win for the Del Valle Cardinals. She continued her education at Austin Community College and Mansfield Business School, where she received a certificate of completion in Business in 1989.
She began her working career while in High School working part-time at IRS. Her work history includes Advance Micro Devices, Motorola, Houston-Tillotson College, Sheraton Reservations, etc., but her most gratifying position was that of a Caregiver where she worked until she became ill in January 2022.
Felecia's greatest joy came in March 1978, when she gave birth to her one and only daughter, Shemeka. She was the love of her life. In 1993, she was blessed with her son Jasper, whom she loved dearly.
Felecia left a lasting impression on everyone she met with her beautiful smile, caring spirit, and selflessness. She was a kind soul who shared her generosity with everyone she met. She opened her home to anyone in need and she treated all children like her own and made no exception.
Felecia is preceded in death by her father, Willie B. Walker and brother Stephen Walker. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Marnette Walker, daughter, Shemeka, son, Jasper Sr. (Sheika) of San Antonio, Texas, three sisters, Delicia (Twin), Jocelyn and Picole, two brothers, Barry, Sr., and Cory all of Austin, Texas. Six grandkids, Di'Aramis "Maggie", Daija, Jazmine, Jayden, JaCodi, and Jasper, Jr. Nephews, Jerod, Barry, Jr., Dijon, Brandon, Cory, Hawke, and Ridge. Nieces, Alexis, Brianna, McKenna, Josephine, Bethany, and Oshen. Great nieces and nephews, Cole, Jewlz, O'rien, Aisten, Aisland, Marley, Carter, and Carlton, and a host of loving relative and friends.
