Felice Michelle Jones was born at Mercy Hospital on Saturday morning, October 28, 1972, in Orlando, Florida to Mamie and David Jones. She was the youngest of two children. Felice, referred to as "Fee-Fee" by family, transitioned from this life in the presence of family on July 21, 2025.
Felice was educated in the private school and Orange County Public School systems. She proudly expressed that she was one of the first students to attend the newly opened Dr. Phillips High School. Her sister gifted her a monogrammed varsity jacket during her first year there and she wore it constantly, weather permitting. It was her favorite jacket, and she would mention how students frequently asked her where she got it because she was the only student at the school with a jacket like that. She was in the Honor Society, Theater/Drama Club, Debate team, and participated in college career training programs Upward Bound and InRoads. She was also a member of Delteens.
Upon graduating, she set her sights on getting a degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M University. She was accepted to be a student in Dr. (Dean) Mobley's SBI Program. While at FAMU, she followed the lead started by her aunt and her mother by becoming a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and joined during the same spring as her sister and her cousin who were at different universities. She pledged the Beta Alpha Chapter at FAMU with a host of wonderful ladies who became true, lifelong, dedicated sisters. An on-campus seminar changed her life and her career plans from pursuing a career in International Marketing to one about which she was truly passionate: Sports and Entertainment Planning.
She moved to Washington D.C. where she attended George Washington University, obtaining a Masters in Entertainment Marketing. During her tenure there, she participated in several internships. The first was with the DC Department of Tourism during which she wrote a book on tourism to help visitors explore Washington D.C. Her second internship was with the National Football League Players Association. This opportunity led to a full-time position as event planner. She quickly rose to the level of Vice-President of Event Planning. For 25 years, she was responsible for planning and executing events such as the "Rookie Premier", the annual Awards Gala, and the big one, the "NFL Players Party" held during the week of the Super Bowl. The Players Party not only became her signature event, but it also quickly became the "must go-to" event during the Super Bowl. During Felice's tenure as VP, The Player's Party became the "hot" Super Bowl event that everyone wanted to attend and party attendees had to know someone in order to get in. With a different theme every year, it was a well-coordinated event that featured top performers. It was such a top-tier event that performers were asking her to perform, and celebrities were scrambling to get tickets. Felice worked tirelessly all year to ensure that this and all the other events under her purview came off without a hitch and she always succeeded. She also taught Sports Event planning at GW as an adjunct professor for 5 years. She returned to Orlando and worked as an adjunct professor at UCF at the Rosen College of Entertainment and Marketing. She traveled extensively, domestically and internationally. Although her schedule did not permit her to physically volunteer at community events, she consistently donated money to various organizations. She also donated supplies to assist under-privileged k-12 students to help them succeed in school.
Felice leaves to cherish her memories, her parents, David and Mamie Jones and her sister, Wanda Jones, paternal great-aunt, Jean J. Waller, maternal aunts, Mary A. Ransom, Clementine A. Hall, Ethel A. Speight, and Lacy A. Colson, Florence Alston, Jessie Alston, and a host of devoted cousins throughout the eastern seaboard. There are also many very close friends made through the years all across the USA. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of FELICE, please visit our Tree Store.
