Felipe de Jesus Reynoso, (66), of Laredo, Texas passed away May 30, 2024, with his daughter and son in law by his side.
Felipe was born to Francisco and Juanita (Juaregui) Reynoso, on December 21, 1957 in Los Angeles, California. From a young age he loved playing and watching sports. He developed an encyclopedic knowledge of sports history and trivia, particularly around the Los Angeles Dodgers. After graduating from high school he turned down a full ride scholarship to the University of Southern California (USC) and instead opted to follow his older brother into military service enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. During his 21 years of service he was stationed in many international locations including Iceland, Korea, Saudi Arabia and Germany. He completed his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Finance and retired with a rank of Master Sergeant.. Following military retirement, Felipe worked for many U.S. contractors as a Budget and Financial analyst. He was proud to be a Veteran and paid his respects to any retired or active service member he came across. You could find him in local shops sitting with another Veteran telling stories of where they had served and military life in the 80s and 90s. Another passion was road bike cycling, completing several century rides and riding just for fun. When his nephew passed away at 16 from leukemia, Dad ran several marathons and century bike rides to raise thousands of dollars for Team in Training for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society. He spoke daily about riding again soon. For the past 3 years he resided in Laredo, Texas close to his daughter and three grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He became a published author of one book (Lala Surviving), and was in the process of completing his second book. His daily pastime was going to his daughters' home and enjoying a cigar on their back porch while watching his grandchildren play. "The best part of my day" he would say. In February of 2024 he gave his life to Christ at Grace Bible Church and was in small bible study groups to grow a closer relationship with the Lord.
Phil's loving spirit will be carried on by his daughter, Rheanna Winters (Luca; their children, Stella Grace (9), Luca Aleksander(7), and Otto William(3)). Brothers: Francisco Reynoso (daughters: Amanda P. Werner, Camille Reynoso Mason, Emily V. Ford, Rachel M Reynoso, and Helena I Messner), Marco Antonio Reynoso (Kathryn Marie, daughters; Jorgetti Marie, Joeli Marie and Jinni-Lou Marie), Luis Arturo Reynoso (Connie, children: Luis Arturo Jr. and Amelia), Jesus Javier Reynoso, sisters: Victoria Genoveva Reynoso (sons; Adrian Kobayashi, Abel Kobayashi), Veronica Reynoso-Dazalla (Cheryl, daughters; Kelsey, and Kylie) and Viviana Villaneda (Frank, daughters: Erika, Paloma and Isabella) He is also survived by many family members across Southern California and Jalostotitlan, Jalisco, Mexico. He is preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Reynoso and father, Francisco Reynoso and nephew Luke Reynoso. The family would like to thank the entire Grace Bible Church community for their support during this time, and close family friend Amanda Condon.

My compadre. I will miss you Shirt. No wonder I have not heard from you lately. You always have a good word to share. The last being you have now known the Lord and had become a Christian. Brother, I was glad then and even more now, knowing you are saved through faith and are now with the Lord. Absent in the body, present in the Lord. Rest in peace my friend and brother. I shall remember you with fondness. First met at Luke AFB in 1990, continued on to the desert in Shaikh Isa AB, Bahrain during GW1 then onto Los Angeles AFB as contractors. I guess I shall see you on the other side my friend.

RIP Felipe ! Phil and I was stationed at Reese AFB (I was there from 1981-1985). Phil was my roommate for a few months while he was going through some personal times. Went he was in Desert Storm (1991) I would send him a monthly care package. I also visit him when he was stationed at Luke AFB AZ. Over the years we kept in touch and just recently within the last month he mentioned something on my Facebook page. Was a big Bike rider until medical issues took effect. He always loved for his daughter Rheanna and grandchildren. Phil - you will be missed! Rick Miller (USAF - Ret)

Phil as he liked to be addressed was a good friend of mine. Our friendship started at Top Dollar at 2 AM in the morning at Little Rock. It continue to Southbridge and then at Hanscom. Coffee and talks on life were the best. I called him the Chief which he would have been the best. The light of his life was his daughter. My heart is heavy with this loss. I will miss our talks.
