Felix Bruce Carter

Felix Bruce Carter, age 77, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and longtime resident of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on January 24, 2026.

Felix was the beloved husband of Elma Lou Carter and the former husband of Faye Young. He was a devoted father to Scott Benton (preceded in death), Teianya Marie Allen, Kenji Carter, Phillip Carter, and Steven Carter, and a loving stepfather to Sofia Murillo. He was a proud grandfather to three cherished granddaughters, Keyani Troy, Summer Allen, and Addisen Allen, and a great-grandfather to Knayama Troy, whose lives brought him immense joy.

Born on October 4, 1948, Felix dedicated much of his life to service and hard work. He faithfully served his community in many professional roles, including as a manager at Eastman Kodak, a Chicago Police Officer, a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Officer, a Security Officer, and later as a Teacher Assistant for Chicago Public Schools. His career reflected a deep commitment to protecting, mentoring, and supporting others.

Felix will be remembered for his quick wit and funny sense of humor, as well as the steady presence he brought to everyone who knew him. He was someone people could depend on, whether for guidance, protection, or simply a shared laugh. His love for his family and dedication to his community leave a lasting legacy.

Felix Bruce Carter will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he has touched.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, January 29th, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Chicago Fil-Am SDA Church, 3920 N Central Ave Chicago IL 60634.
