Ferlin Jackson Pikyavit

Ferlin Jackson Pikyavit was born on December 1, 1960 and left his earthly body surrounded by his loved ones after a valiant fight with cancer on March 21, 2023.
He was born in Fillmore, Utah to Earl and Verna Pikyavit and grew up in Kanosh and Meadow and attended school in Fillmore. Fer graduated from Millard High School where he excelled as a State Champion Wrestler and was a member of a State Champion football team.
I believe that he got his work ethic from our dad who taught him that a little hard work wasn't going to hurt you. he started working doing farm work as a young boy around town, but soon eventually decided to get a trade, which became his career. He learned to first mechanic from dad. Fer decided to go to Tech and became a certified mechanic which he did until he couldn't do it anymore.
Fer met the love of his life in Trena Nanette Taylor whom he married on February 4, 1994. She brought a daughter and Fer gained a daughter Mary whom he loved and cared for and raised as his own. So he was devastingly heartbroken when they lost Mary in 2009 in an accident. I don't think he fully recovered from losing her. They had two daughters of their own in Abigail Taylor and Tayla Mae, who were the light of their dads eyes.
Fer was also an avid outdoorsman who fished every stream, creek, river, pond and lake he could and hunted every mountain he could climb and explore. He loved the outdoors and would have loved being out there forever if he could.
Our brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin, nephew and very good friend will be missed, so very much.
Ferlin is survived by his wife Trena Nanette and daughters Abigail Taylor and Tayla Mae; siblings: Rosemary and Adolph Devinney of Ft. Hall, ID; Erwin and Carrie Pikyavit of St. George, UT; Delvern (Rick) and Rena Pikyavit of Richfield, UT; Russell Pikyavit of Kanosh; SueAnn Pikyavit Stroble of Kanosh; Pete Pikyavit of Richfield, UT; Jason Pikyavit of Boise, ID.
He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Verna Pikyavit; his daughter Mary Frances; siblings: Janice Louise and Brian Scott Pikyavit and niece Sharla Pikyavit GrandBois.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 with a viewing at 2:00 PM, service at 3:00 PM. Followed by dinner, then an all-night Traditional Native American Sing at 7:00 PM.
Per Ferlins wishes he will be cremated and given to his family.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped with Ferlins care from his oncology doctors, to personal doctors, the wonderful Hospice nurses who came at a moment's notice, to the Bishop for his comfort and kind words, and the Relief Society for their wonderful service. You are all greatly appreciated.
