Fern Maxine Weber, daughter of the Robert L. Willhite and Bessie Carter Willhite, was born May 23, 1932 in Houston, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Houston house in Houston, Missouri. At the time of her passing, Fern was ninety-two years, three months and twenty days of age.
Fern was raised in the Plato, Missouri area and remained in the area her entire life. On October 12, 1953, she was united in marriage to her true love, Delvin L. Weber. They were married over fifty years before Delvin passed away in 2004.
In addition to her husband, Fern was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Peggy Humphrey; a granddaughter, Shonna; her brothers, Gene Willhite, Howard Willhite, James Willhite and Dale Willhite; and two sisters, Mable Hammond and Ruth Porter.
Fern is survived by two sons, Rick Weber and his wife Arleta of Plato, Missouri and Bob Weber and his wife Rhonda of Springfield, Missouri; her grandchildren, Shelia, Mark, Ryan, Michael, Jason and Jenny; her great-grandchildren, Ashley, Rachel, Kaylynn, Lexis, Chloe, Kiera, Maylyn, Ty, Brooke, Morgan, Madi and Dalton; and great-great-grandchildren, Estella, Amelia, Thatcher, Oliver, Fenton, Harrison, Juliana, Kaylei, Jayce, Kinsley, and Collins; and other relatives and friends.
Fern had professed her faith in Jesus Christ early in her life and was a member of the Christian Church in Plato.
Fern was employed at Rawlings Ball Company in Licking, Post Billiting at Fort Leonard Wood, and served as a custodian at Manes Schools. She also was a babysitter for area families.
Fern loved being a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and sewing. She also liked raising flowers at her home.
Most of all, she loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. They brought her so much joy and she was blessed to watch them in their activities while they were growing up.
Throughout her life, Fern was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, embodying the roles of a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Her home was a haven of warmth, love, and laughter, where countless memories were created and treasured.
A memorial to Palace Cemetery has been established and donations may be left or mailed to the funeral home at Holman-Howe Funeral Home, 230 S. Adams Ave., Lebanon, MO 65536.
