Fernande G. Wimble, 82 of Beaufort, SC, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at her residence in Beaufort.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the Beaufort National Cemetery at 2 PM.
Fern was born on May 14, 1942, in Biddeford, Maine, the daughter of the late Joachim and Anais (Cote) Charrette. She later married her husband of 62 years, Richard Wimble, on July 20, 1963 in Hartford, CT. They traveled the world for careers while raising a family before settling in Enfiled, CT for 40 years and later relocating to South Carolina in 2019. Fern enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, playing her organ, and many years camping with family and friends. Once Fern retired from Lego in 1997, she and Richie traveled the country in their RV going coast to coast several times. Out of all these activities, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching them grow, hearing their updates, and preparing for the holidays with them.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Wimble, daughter Debbie Kelly and husband Rick, daughter Kathy Parrow and husband Ron; son Richard Wimble Jr and wife Rachel, her sister Terese Brochu, 10 grandchildren Kristi, Briana, Sara, Nate, Charlotte, Zach, Jacob, Brady, Gabe & Chris, and 4 great granddaughters with another on the way. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Richard, Raymond, Rolland, Roger, Conrad, Anita, Gertrude, and Jeanine.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (bcrf.org)
