Fernando Castro passed away at his home in Cleburne, Texas, on October 31, 2025. He was born on February 9, 1961, in Fresno, California, the second son of Constancio and Maria Castro.
Fernando was a man of many gifts, creative, kind-hearted, and endlessly talented. He had a natural ability to fix just about anything and took great pride in his work as a handyman. There was never a problem he couldn't find a clever solution for. He loved working with his hands, especially through woodworking, and often turned simple pieces of wood into something beautiful and meaningful.
Fernando was also incredibly musically gifted. He would pick up any instrument and play it as if he had played before, he would play his guitar and fill a room with music, or sit at the piano and play almost any song he heard all by ear. Music came to him naturally, and it was one of the many ways he expressed his joy and creativity.
Those who knew Fernando will remember his big smile, his quick jokes, and the way he could make anyone laugh. His creativity, kindness, and lighthearted spirit touched everyone around him.
He was loved deeply by his family and friends and will be missed beyond words.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Castro; his sister, Guadalupe Barajas; and his brother, Arturo Castro.
Fernando is survived by his father, Constancio Castro; his brothers Tito Castro, Jesse Castro, Joe Castro and wife Kari, and Matthew Castro; and his sisters Katherine Abreu, Melissa Castro, and Elizabeth Thornton and husband Matthew.
The family will host a funeral service at the Castro Family Home 2 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2025.
