Benjamin Resurreccíon Bunag, Sr. was born on June 23, 1938, in Obando, Bulacan, Philippines, and entered his final Sabbath rest in Burleson, Texas, on October 18, 2025.
Together with his beloved wife, Melba, whom he married on January 22, 1967, they raised their children, Ben Jr. and Melva Lynn, in Keene, Texas-where the Bunag family became an active and cherished part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, community, and Adventist schools.
Though his professional life was devoted to insurance, his true legacy was one of assurance-the assurance of his steadfast faithfulness to the Lord and his kindness and generosity to all.
He is lovingly remembered by his son, Benjamin Jr. (wife Gina); daughter, Melva Hwang (husband Aaron); and grandchildren; Jeffrey, Melea, Joel, and Marcus. He is also survived by four sisters, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
To countless loved ones, he will forever be fondly remembered as "Kuya Ben", "Uncle Benny" and "Lolo."
