Fernando Gallardo, 44, was taken from us far too soon on February 14, 2026. He was born on March 18, 1981, in
Harlingen, Texas, to the late Ana Maria Lastra.
Fernando grew up in Harlingen alongside his seven siblings and graduated from Harlingen High School in 1999. From a young age, he carried a vibrant spirit and a larger-than-life personality. Known as the life of the party, Fernando had a heart just as big as his presence. He was an entrepreneur in many ways, always finding opportunities not just for himself, but to uplift others - often asking for nothing in return.
A talented and detailed barber, Fernando built more than a clientele; he built relationships. His clients loved sitting in his chair, not just for his skill, but for his conversation, laughter, and authenticity. He proudly used his own hair as a living billboard to showcase his craft. Dedicated to his community, he gave back by hosting and participating in events that provided free back-to-school haircuts for children, ensuring they started the year with confidence.
Fernando gave more than he ever took. If you called, he was there - no questions asked. He loved gathering with family and friends, throwing back a few drinks, sharing a good meal, and creating unforgettable memories filled with laughter. Work later brought him to Houston, where he sought to be closer to family and begin a new chapter in his life. He was on a path toward a promising future when his life was tragically cut short.
He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Ana Maria Lastra, and his nephew, Matthew Manuel Gallardo.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved children: Ilyanna Nevaeh Gallardo, Keanu Caleb Gallardo, and Adonis King Gallardo; his siblings: Laura Sandra Gallardo Lastra, Roberto Arquimides Gallardo Lastra, Nora Guadalupe Gallardo, Manuel Gallardo, Jessica Marie Olivarez, Erica Maria Olivarez, and Kassandra Silva; 11 nephews and 2 nieces; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends who loved him dearly.
Though he was taken from us too soon, we find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his loving mother and resting in the Lord's arms. Fernando's legacy of generosity, loyalty, laughter, and love will live on in all who had the blessing of knowing him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
