Fernando is survived by his wife Shirley Gonzales of 30 years, his children, Marisella Gonzales, Jessica Cardenas & Gabriel Cardenas, grandchildren, Carlos, Elijah, Aven, Mila, Arianna & Roman, siblings, Jimmy Nunez, Roland Nunez, Rosemary Arreola, Elizabeth Quinones & Laura Carmona.
Fernando was preceded in death by his granddaughter Zoe Cardenas, his brother Raymond Nunez Jr. and his mother Elena Ofelia Vara.
Fernando was born on January 25, 1954, in San Antonio, Tx. He graduated from Burbank High School in 1973 and went on to serve on the San Antonio Police Department as a patrolman retiring after 27 years of service.
Fernando loved nothing more than to be fishing on a pier or sitting in a casino at his favorite slot machine. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved listening to music and dancing. Football and basketball were his favorite pastimes watching the Cowboys and Spurs.
Fernando will truly and deeply be missed.
Memorial Services scheduled for Saturday, March 16, 2024.
Viewing/Visitation 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Memorial/Rosary 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Reception immediately following 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
