Fernando Hernandez, Sr., 72, was born on May 30, 1952, in Matamoros, Mexico, and was called to be with his Lord and Savior on January 22, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Fernando was a man of simple joys and great love. He was always ready for an outing, whether it was to enjoy his favorite micheladas or to savor a good BBQ, often manning the grill himself. His love for life shone through his enthusiasm for lotería and his dedication to cheering on his favorite teams—the Águilas de América and the Houston Astros. A man of heart and humor, Fernando was known for giving everyone affectionate nicknames, creating bonds that left lasting impressions. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, attending as many of their games as he could to show his unwavering support. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Nohemi V. Hernandez; his son, Fernando Hernandez, Jr., and wife Berta; his daughters, Miriam Bazaldua and husband Eduardo, and Cynthia Hernandez; his brothers, Santos, Rafael, and Federico Hernandez; his sister, Anita Fernandez; and his beloved grandchildren, Anthony, Eric, Ellie, Noah, Abigail, and Catalina. Fernando's warmth, humor, and steadfast presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His family, friends, and loved ones will hold his memory close, treasuring the joy and love he brought into their lives.
