Fernando Lopez Ramirez, 69, of Hondo, formerly of Uvalde and Crystal City, Texas, passed away on May 3, 2025, at Dimmit Regional Hospital in Carrizo Springs, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A service will be held the same day at 6:30 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
He was born on January 16, 1956, in Lansing, Michigan to Rafaela (Lopez) and Patricio Ramirez
He married Esther Escamilla on April 29, 1977, in Crystal City, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years of Hondo; daughter, Matika R. Ortegon and husband, Joshua of Hondo; son, Roland Ramirez and wife, Misty of Needville; three sisters, Lucy R. Castillo of Crystal City, Letty R. Ramirez of Minnesota, and Betty R. Torres of Austin; two brothers, John L. Ramirez of Austin and Pat L. Ramriez of Crystal City; two grandchildren, Kade Ryan Ramirez and Tessa Riley Ramirez.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Cristina R. Lopez and Enedina Ramirez; three brothers, Richard L. Ramirez, Gilbert L. Ramirez, and Ramiro L. Ramirez.
Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
