Ferrel Dee Johnston, 73, Jay, OK passed away July 6, 2024 at Integris Grove Hospital after an illness.
Ferrel Dee Johnston was born July 29, 1950 in Turlock, CA the son of Victor Allen and Emma Grace (Ward) Johnston. Ferrel had live in California all of his life until he moved to Oklahoma in 2011. He loved riding horses and was a former member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Ferrel enjoyed fishing taking care of cattle, taking pictures of wildlife and spending time with his family. Ferrel formerly owned and operated Performance Diesel and Ferrel's Customs Homes both were located in Turlock, CA. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War as a sniper. While in the Army Ferrel participated in boxing and received several medals.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Johnston, Jay; his son Benjamin Johnston and feiance' Presley Brecheisen, Wyandotte, OK; daughters Mary Bowman and husband Trevor, Jay, OK and Tara Wright, Kalispell, MT; sister LaJune Johnston-Grove, Williamsburg, VA and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Ferrel was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Emma Johnston and one brother Doyle Johnston.
The body has been taken for cremation under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held by the family at a later date.
