Fidencio G. Reyes, a dedicated family man and hardworking individual, passed away peacefully in Lubbock on February 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on April 19, 1950, in Lubbock to Demetrio and Josefina (Garcia) Reyes, Fidencio was raised in a large family that instilled in him the values of perseverance and hard work. He embraced every opportunity to provide for and nurture his loved ones.

Fidencio enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, often found outside tending to his plants, working on his truck, or enjoying the great outdoors while fishing and hunting. His passion for cooking was matched only by his love for sharing meals with family, always bringing a warm presence to the table. Together with his children and grandchildren, he cherished those moments of cooperation and laughter, teaching them the importance of diligence and teamwork.

A lifelong learner and a treasure seeker, Fidencio frequented flea markets and local shops, enjoying the thrill of discovery. He was an avid supporter of WWE Wrestling, Texas Tech athletics, and the Dallas Cowboys, often animatedly discussing the latest games with friends and family. Music filled his home, as he enjoyed listening to the radio while taking pride in his appearance with always well-styled hair.

Fidencio was known for his playful and ornery spirit. He showed his love in his unique way, often teasing and griping at those closest to him, a testament to the bond he shared with his family.

Fidencio leaves behind cherished memories for all who knew him, a testament to a life filled with hard work, dedication to family, and endless love. His legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be part of his journey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Rudy Reyes, Rosendo Reyes, Felix Reyes, Frank Reyes, Lupe Reyes, Nasario Reyes, Eva Hernandez, Sofia Beltran, Benita Garcia, Ofelia Miranda, Amy Morin; and grandson, Gabriel Anthony Reyes.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son Reuben Reyes and his wife, Klaryssa; daughter, Olivia Reyes; grandchildren, Ruben Reyes, Victoria Reyes, Vallory Reyes, Rubin Reyes, Kylie Lopez, Paisley Lopez, Matthew Reyes, John Reyes, Marina Cervantez (Alex), Joshua Garcia, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a very beloved furbaby, Diesel. Fidencio is also survived by his siblings, Cruz Reyes, Elias Reyes, Eloisa Tamez, Nellie Reyes, Gloria Reyes, Gracie Reyes; and many other family members and friends.
