Finnegan John Secreast

MARQUETTE, MI - On July 1st, 2024, just before dawn, during the delicate balance between light and dark, Finnegan John Secreast left this world.
Finn lived with a playful spirit that was both free and incredibly generous. He gave the shirt off his back. His goofy humor, warm hugs and deep affection, brought happiness to all who knew him. He cherished a good sleep in, was insightful and felt things deeply. Finn cultivated an expansive and impeccable taste in music. He lost things. Though he was messy, his room was clean the last time he left it.
Finn was endearing. He could be a smart ass. He could be shy. Although he could be anxious, he was effortlessly cool. He wasn't for accolades though he loved to win and hated to lose. He had gentle quietness. He loved to swim, jump and play in the water. His true nature was profoundly thoughtful. He overflowed with fun-he was so much fun. He brought light to our rooms. Finn was a true empath and always offered comfort to those around him with genuine reassurance and embrace.
He turned a bad day good.
The bond Finn shared with his friends was rooted by authenticity and loyalty. He loved them unconditionally, giving of himself with his whole heart. He treasured each moment in their company.
Finn's love for family and traditions we will uphold forever in our collective narrative. His memory will live on in the stories that bind us and his favorite songs we will sing. His spirit will guide us with the same exuberance and childlike quality that he brought to our family.
This darkness without Finn is a paralyzing hurt. There are simply no words that can adequately express the excruciating pain and emptiness that we feel. We are shattered. Brokenhearted by the realization that we will never again have the chance to hold him in our arms, to share his laughter or experience the joy of his presence. The void left by his absence is overwhelming.
In this darkness, we will use his light to do all the best things. We will honor his life by embracing ours with open hearts and minds. Every smile we share, every act of kindness we extend, will be a testament to the profound impact Finn had and will always have on us.

We warmly invite everyone to gather with us to celebrate Finn at the Presque Isle Pavilion in Marquette, MI, from 11AM to 1PM on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024.
For those who are unable to join us, we are planning another celebration at Moloney's in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, on Sunday, July 21st from 12PM to 2PM.
We value your voice and story. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like to speak at his celebration. We want everyone to feel comfortable and free to engage in the celebration in their own way. There will be a relaxed atmosphere, come and go as you wish, without any specific time constraints. Your presence is incredibly meaningful to us as we come together to honor and remember our Finn.
