HANCOCK, MI – Linda "Lin" Irene Eakin, age 75, of Hancock, passed away October 2, 2025.
Linda was born August 2, 1950, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, a daughter of Robert Earl and Glendelon Grace (Whitehead) Thompson. She married the love of her life, David Eakin, in Houghton, and together the couple established a home and began raising a family. For several years, Lin was a devoted stay at home mom.
In the mid-1990s David and Lin purchased the Crystal Room in Hancock, where Lin served as a bar maid. Throughout her life, Lin's main focus and love was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She possessed a quiet, soft hearted nature, and was generous with her time and talent.
Lin is survived by her mother, Glendelon Thompson of L'Anse; her children, Gwen (David) Apger of Covington, Michelle (Paul) Ruddell of Lake Linden, and Randy (Torry) Ruddell of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lin was preceded in death by her father, Robert Thompson; and her husband, David Eakin.
Honoring her request, the family will honor her memory privately.
