On May 23rd, 2024, Fiorindo “Dino” Basso passed away. Born on July 22, 1938 to the late Josephine and late Giustino Basso; he was the loving husband of Florence Basso; devoted father of Shawn Marshall and fiance Stanley Holmes, Lisa Evangelisto and husband Rick, Robert Marshall and wife Robin, Santina Shetterly and husband William, Michael Basso and wife Dawn; cherished grandfather of Amy, Dena, Mandy, Gregory, Rachel, Brittany, Cory, Samantha, Jacob, Zachary, Trevor, and Aaron; loving great grandfather of Adam, Samir, Sophia, London, Jessica, Eli, Alexandra, Emma, Kylie, Lucas, Jonah, Mason, and Rory; and dear brother of the late Alexander Basso and late wife Catherine, the late Attilia Marasa and late husband John, and the late Vincent Basso and late wife Carleen.
Not only was he a devoted family man, Dino was also committed to his friendships of which he had many who were fortunate to have his loyalty. From playing cards to winning bocce tournaments in Little Italy, to cheering on his favorite sports teams, especially the 49ers and Capitals, but also those his grandchildren and great grandchildren played on, Dino was ever present, active, and supportive of the people and activities he loved during his life. The reach of his warmth, love, and laughter was felt by many in his 85 years leaving an indelible impact on those who were lucky enough to know him.
A public visitation will be held at Ambrose Funeral, Inc., 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Arbutus on Tuesday, May 28th from 5 PM to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 4414 Wilkens Ave., Baltimore on Wednesday, May 29th at 10 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Loudon Park Cemetery.
