Acosta, Flerida, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us on November 29, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on October 9, 1951, in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic, Flerida's journey was marked by her boundless love, generosity, and undeniable spirit. Flerida dedicated her life to her family, continually nurturing those she loved with her culinary talents, which she shared generously with anyone fortunate enough to gather around her table. Her passion for baking was matched only by her keen eye for fashion, exemplified in her successful venture as the proprietor of Esther's Fashion in the Bronx, NY. Flerida was not only an entrepreneur but also a cherished volunteer who dedicated her time as a candy striper at a local hospital, sharing warmth and kindness with those in need. Flerida is survived by her daughters, Esther Acosta, Luz Maria; her sons, Joel, Leonel; as well as seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her legacy, reflecting her noble heart and unwavering dedication to family. A woman of many talents, Flerida was known for her expertise in antiques, her love of thrift shopping, and her remarkable gardening abilities- a testament to her nurturing spirit and green thumb. She was an active member of her church, where she found community and purpose. Flerida's heart was also moved by the struggles of others, leading her to donate generously to organizations supporting diabetes, heart disease, and stroke research. She found joy in helping her family in the Dominican Republic, sending support whenever she could. Flerida Acosta will be missed dearly, but her spirit will forever shine in the hearts of all fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace.
