Flora Stefan, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2025, at the age of 80. A woman of deep faith, boundless compassion, and quiet strength, Flora leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering devotion to family and community.
Born in the Philippines, Flora's journey took her across continents-living in Europe, Asia, Africa, and even braving the remote beauty of Kodiak Island, Alaska. Her life was a tapestry of cultures, friendships, and adventures, all guided by her deep-rooted values and her devotion to the Bahá'í Faith.
Flora was the cherished wife of the late Carl Stefan, with whom she co-founded the nonprofit E ach One Feed One Each One Teach One. Together, they dedicated their lives to supporting Filipino children in need-raising funds to feed, clothe, and educate them from early childhood through college. Over the years, they changed the lives of many young people, offering hope and opportunity where there had been little.
She was a loving mother to Chris Stefan (wife Mojdeh; children Sami and Sameen), Lani Elliott (husband Mark; daughter Kinley), and Suzanne Stefan (husband Raanan; children Ava and Ari). Her love for her grandchildren knew no bounds, and she found her greatest joy in their weekly facetime chats, laughter, growth and hugs.
Flora had a unique superpower: knowing exactly what someone needed, often before they even realized it themselves. A new pair of socks. A homemade meal. A gentle phone call. Her kindness and intuition were gifts she gave freely and often.
She found joy in the simple things-tending to her garden and passing down her Filipino heritage through food. Whether it was her legendary adobo or perfectly crisp lumpia, Flora cooked with love.
Flora will be remembered for her warm heart, her radiant spirit, and her quiet determination to make the world a better place-one child, one meal, one kind word at a time.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her memory to Each One Feed One Each One Teach One, continuing the work to which Flora and Carl dedicated their lives. Donations can be made at http://www.eofo-eoto.org/donations/
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens on Saturday, April 12th, at 1:00pm

What a wonderful friend you have been. You have brightened my life in Florida. Shopping, dividing and sharing our groceries , going to get your hair trimmed, eating out at Paneras, reminiscing about Carl, sharing accomplishments about our children and grandchildren, gardening and so many other things. You taught me about the care of my orchids and we repotted so many of them over the past couple of years. The loss of you will definitely be felt in my world. Much peace and love to your family. I will pray for your soul and for any heaviness in the hearts of your children. Lorraine
