Florence (Montpelier) "G-Ma" Kostecka, a long time resident of Chatham Township, died Tuesday, April 23, 2024. She was 93 years old..
Florence was born in Fall River Massachusetts on January 25, 1931, a daughter to the late Marie (Oliviera) and Henry A. Montpelier, living in Hillside, NJ before moving to Chatham Township, NJ in 1972, and was a graduate of Hillside High School.
She was the owner and operator of the Berkeley Wash and Dry in Berkeley Heights, NJ for many years before retiring in 2008.
Florence loved cats, was an avid reader, enjoyed travel and spending time with her family at the Jersey Shore, especially LBI and Point Pleasant, NJ.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Edward P. Kostecka in 2000 and sister Patricia Belford,
Florence is survived by her son Bruce E. Kostecka, her two daughters Laura L. Kostecka, Debra L. Casorio and her husband Joseph Casorio and her daughter-in-law Maryann Kostecka. She dearly loved her four grandchildren Joseph Casorio and his wife Kristin, Ashley Casorio and her fiancé Brian Whitt, Brianna Kostecka and Kerry Adamek and her husband John Adamek. Her three great-grandchildren Gavin and Adalyn Casorio and John (LJ) Adamek were her joy as were her nephews Danny,Matt and Paul Belford and their beautiful families, and her extended family of kids that called her "Mom K".
Visitation for Florence will be Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 12:00PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery Chestnut Street, Stirling, NJ.
