Florence Potter Obituary

Howland/Wytopitlock – Florence A. (Knights) Potter, 98, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, with her family by her side. Florence was born on August 7, 1927, in Brookton, one of ten children of George and Lydia (Grass) Knights.
Florence loved her family, she was the happiest when her home was full of her loved ones. She always had extra food and cookies ready for any surprise visitors, noting that no Saturday was complete without her homemade beans, bread and molasses cookies. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, picking berries and going camping.
In her last hours she told her family how much she loved them.
Florence is survived by her son, Gary Potter of Portland; her two daughters, Patricia (Anthony) Lucas of Stetson and Judy (Steve) Hanscom of Lee; son-in-law, Dr. Larry Potter-Plant; daughter-in-law, Martha Crocker; nine grandchildren, Jamey, Jason, Jessica, Troy, Stacy, Ryan, Chad, Melissa and Erica; 13 great grandchildren, Sophey, Al, Ethan, Noah, Isabella,Emma, Ethan, Kortney,Leine, Tyson, Evan Taylor, Maverick; brother, Rodney (Rachel) Knights of Raymond. In addition to her parents, Florence was predeceased by her loving husband, Calvin; one son, Larry; daughter-in-law, Paula; one great-grandson, Nolan, four sisters and four brothers.
A funeral for Florence will take place in the spring at the Wytopitlock Baptist church. Burial will follow at the Wytopitlock cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Florence's in name can be made to Wytopitlock Baptist church.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cummings Health Care for their care and compassion during Florence's time there.
