Florence Ilene Shipley, 89, passed away January 15, 2024 peacefully and surrounded by family. She was born December 18, 1934 in Newcastle, WY to Levi and Susie (Gibson) Minard. Florence is proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Lyle and Lloyd, sisters Mayrene and Olive Jean, husband John Shipley, son Don and wife Gerri Kay (Nelson) Shipley, and grandson Derrick Shipley. She is survived by her daughter Debbie (Shipley) Homer, granddaughters Megan (Saiz) Cerda and husband Eddie, and Katrina (Shipley) Davis and husband Cauy, 5 great grandchildren, Coltan, Kristeena, Jessica, Michael Jr., & Conner. She also leaves behind sister-in-law Shirley Minard in addition to many beloved nieces and nephews.
Florence brought a lot of joy to her family, friends, and all those who knew her. Her love for life was contagious and she will be dearly missed by many. The family would like to give special thanks to The Beehive Home #4 staff and Basin Home Health Hospice staff for the special care given during her final days on this earth.
A Celebration of Florence's life will be held Friday January 19, 2024 at 1 pm at Farmington Funeral Home located at 2111 W Apache St, Farmington, NM. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday January 20, 2024 at 11 am at Ojito Cemetery in Lindrith, NM. A reception will follow the Graveside Service at the Lindrith Baptist Church. Flowers and condolences can be sent to Farmington Funeral Home in Farmington, NM.
