Florence J. Sohacki (Petrowski)
Bay City, MichiganOur beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at McLaren Bay Region, age 81. Florence was born April 23, 1942, in Bay City to the late Casimer and Rose (Herek) Petrowski. She graduated from St. Stanislaus High School in 1960. She married the love of her life David A. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Church, PLAV #162 Ladies Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Council #4102 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Circus Fans Association. Florence enjoyed making crafts, knitting, crochet, crossword puzzles, baking, cooking, planting flowers around the house, going to bazaars, taking one day road trips throughout the state, and going to the Bavarian and St. Stanislaus festivals. She loved making holidays and birthdays special for everyone, and absolutely loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Florence will be missed for her master selling ability of pull tabs at the Knights of Columbus bingos, making all the place settings at the Circus Fans Association annual Christmas party, and humming her favorite tune while dancing to the Sunday morning polkas.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband David, two daughters Julie (Larry) Kuchek and Mary (Steve) Johnson, four grandchildren: Shannon Kuchek (boyfriend Christian Barcia), Anna Kuchek, Keith (Julia) Przybyla-Kuchek, and Jessica Kuchek, one brother Floyd (Betty) Petrowski, and in-laws: Edmund (Shirley) Sohacki, Marie Campbell, Leonard (Betty) Sohacki, Margaret Ivan-Upton, Alfred (Sally) Sohacki, Thomas (Janet) Sohacki, and Joanne (James) Gast, lifelong best friends Joyce (John) Nichols, many nieces and nephews, as well as a special niece Debra Hammond for lending a helping hand when Florence needed transportation to appointments and an expert set of ears to understand what was going on and medical terminology. Florence was predeceased by an infant sister Dorothy, brother Leonard "Pete" (Judy) Petrowski, sister Ann Sohacki, father and mother-in-law Edmund and Anna (Slaby) Sohacki, Sr., and brothers-in-law: Patrick Ivan, Richard Campbell, and James Upton.
