Florencia Ernestina Tudor, passed away peacefully May 8th, 2025 at 5:36am. Born on April 29, 1950, in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, to the late Juan and Ernestina (Irias) Martinez, Florencia was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her.
Florencia's journey led her from the warm shores of Nicaragua to the heartland of America, where she met and married the love of her life, Eric Tudor. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering faith. Their union was blessed with a son, Jairo (Stacy) Matthews, who resides in Houston, Texas, and who continues to embody the strength and compassion his mother instilled in him.
Florencia dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), a role in which she excelled due to her innate kindness and empathy. Her commitment to service extended beyond her work as she was an active and cherished member of the Niles Westside Seventh Day Adventist Church. There, she served as a deaconess, touching the lives of many through her spiritual devotion and tireless service.
Her siblings, Filimon Martinez, Maria Elena Martinez, and Claudia Martinez, all of whom predeceased her, shared in the joy of her deep-rooted faith and commitment to family. Florencia's legacy is one of love, as she was a guiding force in her family, always leading by example with grace and dignity.
Florencia's interests were a reflection of her generous spirit and unwavering faith. She found immense joy in her church, serving the Lord with every action and prayer. Her love for cooking was an extension of her nurturing soul, as she delighted in preparing meals that not only nourished the body but also comforted the heart. Reading scripture and praying with others were the cornerstones of her daily life, as she sought to uplift and support those around her through her steadfast belief in the power of faith.
Services for Florencia will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Thursday, May 15th. An hour of visitation will begin at 12:00pm, followed by a funeral service led by Pastor Alex Rybachek at 1:00pm, and a graveside service at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens at the conclusion of the funeral services.
Memorial donations in Florencia's memory may be made to Niles Westside Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1105 Grant St, Niles, MI 49120.
Florencia's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those she touched, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Her life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived; one filled with faith, love, and service to others. As we bid farewell to Florencia, we celebrate the enduring impact of her remarkable journey and the countless lives she enriched along the way.
