Florian Czinki

Florian Czinki, 87, of Plano, IL passed away surrounded by family on September 16, 2025 at his home. He was born on August 21, 1938, in Hungary the son of Joseph and Wilma (Szabo) Czinki. Florian left his native country at the age of 17 with only the clothes on his back. He was in trade school as a teen to become a tool and die maker. He was a sharp and stubborn man with a relentless work ethic. For the past 60 years he owned and operated F&C Industries, Inc. A business he built with determination and grit. He never fully retired, always keeping a hand in the work he loved. His language of choice was a mix of cuss words and jokes-always ready with a wise crack that left people laughing. He had a passion for gardening, and he would bribe family and friends to eat his homegrown hot peppers. An adventurer at heart, he loved to travel to Alaska to fish and found joy in scuba diving. His heart though, was always at his cherished cabin in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where he spent countless hours doing what he loved most- using his bulldozer and enjoying the peace of the outdoors. He never passed up a good laugh or a slice of his favorite Hungarian dessert Dobos Torte. Florian will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Marlene Gibson; children, Joseph Czinki, Erika Demeter and Paul (April) Czinki; grandchildren, Alexandria Demeter, Bonnie, Clarabelle and John Czinki, Haley Hulsey and Kristofer Mikelson, Jr.; Marlene's daughters, Melissa (Joe Atef) Gibson and Melanie (Kris) Mikelson; friend and former wife, Jean Czinki and nephews, Tibor and Zoltan Czinki.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Kalman (Gabriella) Czinki.

Family will be receiving guests on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral service will be on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Dieterle. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery, IL.
