Florine "Tee" Barrios was born in Ostrica, LA. Her parents are Marceline Barrios Bono and Frank Barrios, both preceded her in death. She was the last surviving sibling of the Barrios family. Tee died peacefully at home Wednesday, October 3rd, after being hospitalized for pneumonia.
Tee was preceded in death by her sisters, Annie Casbon (David), Eunice Demolle (Numa), Thelma Barrios, and her twin, Flora Petkovich (Anthony) and her brothers Harold (Alice), Frank, and John.
Tee is survived by 14 nieces and nephews; 25 great-nieces and nephews; a host of great-great nieces and nephews and great-great-great nieces and nephews, in addition to numerous cousins.
Tee's family moved from Ostrica to Buras. Tee moved to Venice, LA where she lived out her life with her beloved sister in law Jeri and her brother John.
Tee enjoyed music and dancing, getting her nails polished (showing them off at church was a part of the ritual), eating out; she especially loved Chinese food; she looked forward to family outings and gatherings with her loving family and family of friends.Tee celebrated her 90th birthday on the Creole Queen with twenty members of her family; she enjoyed seeing her family, the food, music and boat ride.
Family and friends were especially kind and loving to Tee, she was born with cerebral palsy and was unable to speak or understand speech; gestures/pictures allowed her to communicate in her own special way. Tee's laughter and smile lit up every room she entered.
She is deeply missed by our family and family of friends; our memories of Tee will be forever cherished.
Special prayers for Jeri Barrios, her trusted and loving caregiver.
