Floy H. Kover

Floy H. Kover, 95, of Lititz, PA, formerly of Manheim, entered Glory on Thursday morning, February 6, 2025 at Brethren Village. Born in Penn Twp., she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Hershey Longenecker. She was the devoted wife of Virgil K. Kover for 75 years on November 19.
Floy attended the former Lititz High School and was a member of Middle Creek Church in Lititz where she supported her husband on the ministry team. Early in their lives, she and Virgil were members of White Oak Church of the Brethren where they served as youth leaders and in the ministry of deacon. They then spent three years supporting the ministry in Pocahontas County, WV. They moved from West Virginia to Greene County, VA where Virgil served as pastor for an additional year before returning to Lancaster County.
Floy was employed for 18 years by Brethren Village prior to retiring in 1995 as housekeeping supervisor. She enjoyed crocheting and used her talent to create many baby caps and blankets which were donated to newborns at Lancaster General Hospital.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Yvonne K. Heisey (Steve Wingard), of Ephrata and Gayle S. Johnson (Christopher), of Lititz; a granddaughter, Yvette Heisey; three step grandchildren, Katelyn, Corey, and Collin; and two siblings, Elva Miller of Lititz, and Jacob Longenecker, of Lititz. She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Verna Copenhaver, Ray Longenecker, and Carl Longenecker; and a foster sister, Elva Martin.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Middle Creek Church, 351 West Middle Creek Road, Lititz, PA. Interment will be in Longenecker Brethren Cemetery, Lititz. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
