A Funeral Service for Floyd William Braun, 92 of Round Top, is scheduled for July 21, 2025 at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The funeral will begin at 10:00 a.m., with interment at Hills Cemetery in Round Top and a reception following at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. A visitation will be held at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home on July 20, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with the family present from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Floyd passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at his home in Round Top, Texas. He was born in Round Top to Willie J. and Laura A. Braun He was Baptized on September 10, 1933 and Confirmed on March 30, 1947, both at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. He graduated from Round Top / Carmine High School in 1950. He married Jocie Jacob in 1998 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine.
Floyd worked for TXI for 30 years as a design engineer. Throughout his life, Floyd was a member of Young Farmers, Sons of Hermann, American Legion and the Carmine Volunteer Fire Department. Floyd was in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers as a Corporal. He was also a member of the Veteran’s Association.
Floyd was a man of many interests and abilities. After retirement, he was an excellent craftsman, turning out many beautiful wood working projects to be auctioned for the benefit of the local fire department. Floyd was respected for his personal integrity by family, friends, and colleagues. He remained a man of faith.
Floyd was married to Lois Magar Braun who passed away on January 28, 1993. They were blessed with two children, Kevin and Kathy.
He is survived by his wife Jocie of 27 years, son Kevin Braun and wife, Geneva Sue, and daughter Kathy Braun. He is also survived by two grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine or to a charity of one’s choice.
