Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Marler Funeral Home - Cushing on Oct. 18, 2025.
Floyd Ray Farar, affectionately known by friends and family as Floyd, left this world at his home in
Cushing, Oklahoma, on October 16, 2025. Born to the late Faye and Clifford Farar on April 11, 1957, in Bakersfield, California, Floyd's journey through life was marked by his infectious laughter, his generous spirit, and his remarkable ability to make every person he met feel like they mattered.
Floyd's early years in Bakersfield were filled with the warm California sun and the loving presence of his parents and siblings. Although he was preceded in death by his mother Faye, father Clifford, brother Stan, and sister Phyllis Wisely, Floyd's legacy continues through his beloved family. He is survived by his devoted sister-in-law Billie Farar, his cherished son Jarrod Farar, and his adored grandchildren Donovan, Dylan, and Kelsey. Floyd's memory will also be treasured by his caring nieces Angla, Regina, Cassidy, Jonna, and Kennydi, and his spirited nephews JD, Clifford, Jackson, Shelby, Kyle, Sam, and Trace.
Floyd's life was characterized by hard work and a love for the open road. He spent many years behind the wheel of a semi, traveling the highways and byways with a sense of freedom and adventure. His entrepreneurial spirit shone at local flea markets, where he was known for his keen eye for treasures and his ability to strike a bargain. His work ethic and engaging personality left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Outside of work, Floyd's passions were clear. He was an avid fan of the UFC, NASCAR, and boxing, relishing the thrill of competition and the camaraderie found in the excitement of each match. Floyd also found joy in the roar of a Harley's engine, taking to the open road with the wind in his face and a smile in his heart.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Floyd would describe him as funny, kind, and thoughtful. He had a knack for humor that could light up a room and a gentle nature that made him a friend to many. His thoughtfulness extended beyond words, as he often showed his love and appreciation through acts of kindness both big and small.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Floyd embodied this sentiment, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched.
As we say farewell to Floyd Ray Farar, we celebrate a life that was lived fully and with great love. His laughter, his kindness, and his unique spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He has left this world a better place, and his memory will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
