Mr. Floyd Benton King of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, having attained the age of 97 years, 1 month, and 12 days. He was born on January 9, 1929, in Livingston, Kentucky, the son of J.B. & Nona (Kirby) King. He was of the Christian faith, a member of Dutch Creek Methodist Church, and was a self-employed business owner of King's T.V. and Appliances. In his free time, he loved to play guitar and write gospel songs. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Ruth (Norris) King, whom he wed on February 9, 1947, son, Douglas King, one brother, five sisters, and son-in-law, David Shaw.

He is survived by his children, Ernie (& Marilyn) King of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Jimmy (& Karen) King, Patty Shaw, both of Burkesville, Kentucky; sibling, Anna Clifford of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky; grandchildren, John (& Lora) King, Connie (& Robert) Vincent, Kevin King (& Teresa Garner), Ben (& Michelle) King, Blake (& Bailey) Allen, Adam (& Rebecca) King, Amanda (& Dane) Klineline; great-grandchildren, Liam, Avery (& Laura), Annelise, Lacy, Everleigh, Declan, Berkeley, Finley, Cora, Nolan; great-great-grandchildren, Harlow, Finley; special friend, Tabitha Graham, and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM in The Memory Chapel of the Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Ron Turner, and Bro. Gary Cash officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, beginning at 4:00 pm until the funeral hour on Saturday. Burial will be in the Dutch Creek Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers contributions appreciated to the Dutch Creek Cemetery fund, c/o Libby Anderson, 1018 Dutch Creek Rd Burkesville, KY 42717.
