Floyd Arthur Sprouse, born on August 7, 1949, in Kanawha County, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 76.

A master carpenter by trade, Floyd was known for his skillful craftsmanship and dedication to his work. Beyond his professional life, Floyd found joy and solace in the simple pleasures of nature. He was an avid fisherman who cherished spending time by the water, casting his line with patience and hope.

Family was of utmost importance to Floyd. He treasured the moments he spent with his beloved family, particularly his nieces and nephews, who brought him endless joy and pride.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd W. Sprouse and Louella West Sprouse, his brother Harry "Lee" Sprouse, and his wives, Cherry Faye Sprouse and Sue Sprouse.

He is survived by his brothers, Clarence W. Sprouse, Bobby Sprouse, David Sprouse, and Gary Sprouse; his sisters, Kay Riley and Diana Sprouse; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. Floyd's kind heart and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of sharing in his life.

Floyd's family would also like to take a moment to thank the staff and volunteers at Hospice House of Williamsburg for the care and comfort they provided to both Floyd and many others who have utilized Hospice House's facility. Thank you all for the amazing work that you all do.
