Fon was the only child of Gertrude and Earl Cunningham from Marshalltown, Iowa. While attending Marshalltown High School, she played jazz trumpet and nurtured her life long love of music, playing piano, organ and guitar. It was in high school that she met her husband of 71 years, William "Bill" Ezell.
Fon is survived by her children, Lawrence, Richard, Carrie and Kristi; ten grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven and her husband, Bill on January 20, 2025.
