Mr. Hime, 72, of Meridian, died Friday, May 9, 2025, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center following a brief illness.
Forest was born Sunday, June 1, 1952, in Louisville, KY and graduated High School in Indiana. After moving with his family, they settled in Mississippi as their permanent home. He enjoyed playing softball, coaching and refereeing soccer, and was known for his speed; Forest was also an avid bowler. He was a skilled referee and eventually became a referee assessor. A man of many talents, Forest was a pioneer in starting a Muscadine Vineyards in Meridian. He worked as a contractor and was a gifted craftsman, being a jack of all trades and a master of many; Forest could do most anything he set his mind to. He was a loving husband and father, and he considered his greatest accomplishment being "Pawpaw" to his seven grandchildren.
Forest is survived by his wife of over 30 years; Colline Hime; children, Jake Noe (Penny), Benjamin Hime, John Hime (Hannah), Katherine Hime (Anthony), Zachary Hodges (Ben), and Micah Hodges (Heather); grandchildren, Dakota Noe, Hunter Noe, Landon Hime, Lillian Sharp, Scott Hime, Hudson Hodges, and Harrison Hodges. Siblings, Bonnie Busbee (Kent), Sharon Martin (Doug), and Joey Hime (Debbie); His mother-in-law, Margaret Remy; his brother-in-law, Kevin Remy (Toby); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mr. Hime is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ruth Hime; his sister, Jo Ann Kruer; and his father-in-law, John Remy.
