A celebration of life and remembrance for Wanda Ann Hime, age 85, of Edmond, formerly of Manchester, Ok, will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, June 23, 2025, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home in Enid, with Doug Graham officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm, prior to the beginning of the service. Wanda will be laid to rest, privately, in the Wakita Cemetery at a later date.
Wanda was born November 5, 1939 to Francis Patrick and Dora Mae (Bayless) Riley, and passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in Enid.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Integris and St Mary hospitals in Enid, for their kindness and help during Wanda's final days.
Wanda grew up in Wakita, Oklahoma. She went to school and made many life-long friends there. She also met her husband, Larry there. They were married on June 29, 1958 in the Wakita Christian Church and had a long and loving marriage for 67 years.
Wanda and Larry lived in Medford, Stillwater, Ponca City and Okmulgee before retiring to the farm in Manchester where Larry was raised. Most recently they spent most of their time in Edmond to be nearer their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Wanda loved people. She poured herself into caring for her family and friends, enjoyed a few years as a dental assistant and then later a dental receptionist. Wanda enjoyed singing and after she retired, was able to join the Sweet Adeline's and share her sweet singing voice and beautiful smile with that fun group of ladies.
Wanda's greatest passion outside her home was the church and her church family and friends. She taught Bible classes, hosted 3 Couple Dinners, spent time with her wonderful friends and loved to study the Bible.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Lila, Mary, Barbara and Pat; and her precious baby daughter, Tammy. She is survived by her husband, Larry Hime; her daughter, Sandy Harris and husband, Cliff; son, Larry Hime; granddaughters Laura Robinson and husband Jimmy; Ashlee Hill and husband, Scott; and great granddaughters Myrrah and Fenix Robinson and Sylva Hill; sister, Darlene Brown; and several dear nieces and nephews.
