Forest Lee Slemmons was born February 28, 1954 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was the third of five children born to Floyd and Mary Elizabeth (DeForest) Slemmons. Forest grew up in rural Tipton and would later graduate from school in Tipton, Iowa in the class of 1973. He furthered education to learn autobody mechanics.
He served in the United States Armed forces under the Unites State Navy. Forest was later honorably discharged from service following his service.
In 1978, he was united in marriage to Doung Thi Pham. He had one daughter Lisa who he raised. Forest lived in many parts of Iowa for early years and then moved to California where he resided for 20 years before moving to the Iowa Veteran's Home. He had a career working on cars and working as a security guard.
In his free time, Forest enjoyed crafting and took a liking to painting. The obvious choice was working on cars but he ultimately loved to be with his daughter and help out her, any of his friends, and was devoted to his faith and read his bible at some point every day.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Dante) Primm; his grandson, DJ Primm; and his siblings, Jim Slemmons, Janalyn Steffens and Roger (Karen) Slemmons; alongside numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Mary Elizabeth Slemmons and a sibling in infancy.
