Patricia Marie Lewis was born June 1, 1951, in Crete, Nebraska. She was one of seven children born to Donald and Marjorie (Huxtable) Lewis and was a proud member of her family’s “Twisted Sisters.” She grew up in Marshalltown and was a graduate from Lenihan High School class of 1969. At Lenihan High School, she loved cheering, being a constant smile in the hall and dancing the night away.
On November 24, 1973, Patty was united in marriage to the love of her life, Donald Stull at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Don and Patty were known as the couple that would always go dancing, go to the movies or “scooping the loop” until they were in their late years. Don and Patty lovingly raised two children, Kimberly Anderson (Stull) and Douglas Stull. Prioritizing their kids’ passions from changing NFL teams multiple times to driving hours to get Florida for a Disney vacation. Patty continued to be a cheerleader at Kim and Doug’s numerous sporting events, dance recitals and band activities. Patty was an avid Iowa sports fan, she was always cheering for whatever Iowa team was playing, unless they were playing the Hawkeyes. Patty was also a sneaky competitive person, loving her card club and bowling teams.
Out of high school, Patty began working as a candy striper at the Marshalltown Hospital and then started her career as a registered nurse in the operating room. Forever, the caregiver, she was known for her kindness and gentle approach.
Outside of work, Patty loved being a grandmother, wife, friend and sister. She loved her grandkids (Quinn Anderson, Griffin Anderson, Paige Stull, and Sienna Stull) showering them with anything they would ask for, including baking whatever they wanted for each holiday. Patty’s face would light up any time a grandkid, niece or nephew would come into a room.
Patty is blessed to be reunited with her husband, Don, in eternal life, as well as her parents, brother and sisters: Kathy Lewis, Donna Lewis, and Jim Lewis. Patty is survived by her children: Kim (Nate) Anderson of Minnetonka, MN and Doug (Jade) Stull of Chanhassen, MN; and her siblings: Barb Morton of Phoenix, AZ, Tom (Jackie) Lewis of Marshalltown, and Debbie (Ken) Harrelson of Marshalltown.
