Jim Clark, age 70 of Eldora, Iowa and formerly of Gladbrook, Iowa, passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 22, 2025 at Unity Point Health Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.
James Allen Clark was born July 2, 1955 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the oldest of two children born to Kenneth and Beverly (Sobek) Clark. Jim grew up in his early years in Rapid City, South Dakota. In high school, he and his family moved to Gladbrook, Iowa and he graduated from Gladbrook High School in 1973.
While in high school, Jim met the love of his life, Marcia Pieper. On June 29, 1974, they were united in marriage at the Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. Jim and Marcia called Gladbrook home while raising their two children, Stephanie and Randy. After high school, Jim began working as a welder at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown, Iowa. He later attended the University of Northern Iowa, receiving his Bachelors Degree in 1991. Jim was last employed at Wayne Engineering in Cedar Falls, Iowa as a welding supervisor, retiring in 2016.
In his free time, Jim enjoyed golfing and playing cards with family and friends. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and enjoyed watching Alabama football and the New York Yankees. Jim was a big supporter of his grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to watch them play football, tennis and basketball. Jim and Marcia embraced retirement with a spirit of adventure, spending many happy days on the road in their RV.
Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his wife Marcia; his children, Stephanie (Justin) Thorp and Randy (Danielle) Clark; grandchildren, Meghan (Ben) Canby, Ben (Elizabeth) Saak, Logan (Abby Runyan) Saak, Izeley Clark, Hollis Clark and Amani Clark; step-grandchildren, Chloe (Jeremiah) Hagedorn and Braden (Tina) Thorp; step-great-grandchildren, Jemma and Cruz Hagedorn. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Judy Prouty; nephew Jeff (Chartelle) Prouty; and brother-in-law Larry Pieper.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Vayda Clark; his parents, Kenneth and Beverly Clark; paternal and maternal grandparents; and father and mother-in-law, Loren (Mildred) Pieper.
